July Update: "Double Carrot Cake!"


Greetings Space Citizens!

Does the possibility of being rewarded with a shiny gold sticker sound enticing? How about signing high-priority documents all day? Are you, in fact, terrified of being promoted?

Well, you're in luck! In July's update, we've got all your strange career fantasies covered! 💼

There's now a whole slate of new misadventures to get lost in. Each of the career paths now has 10 quests each, ranging from small repeatable ones to major promotions! We focused heavily on adding more cross-character interactions so a whole bunch of familiar faces should show up too!

In addition we've included a bunch of new music, primarily featured during the first crisis - and a new daytime track! We'd like to give a shout out to Tim Beek for being the source for many our tunes!

~July Patch Notes~

Additions

  • New career advancement system.
  • 30 new quests related to careers.
  • 6 new music tracks for the intro and daytime cycle.
  • Interactions at the Ramen Den, Memorial, and Membar are now available!


Enhancements

  • Player now starts their post-crisis career at mid-day after "sleeping in".
  • Added a number of new items specific to career advancement.
  • Changed career UI, added progress bars and specific tooltip feedback.
  • Standardized all "empty" inventory slots for player and shops with new graphics.
  • Replaced some progress bars and adjusted placements.
  • A number of mods have had their names and descriptions changed.
  • Extensive recode of career related systems and code. (too many to list)
  • Daytime is now calculated differently. (but you shouldn't notice a difference)
  • Changed how the game handles location identification, now standardized and simplified.
  • Added a cap for current promotion level. (set at 3 for now)
  • Can now advance daytime by clicking the sun. (debug mode only)
  • Career buttons now set by xp instead of title. (debug mode only)
  • BGM and SFX levels reworked.
  • Additional licenses added.
  • Numerous small text / scene edits.


Fixes

  • Some emoji corrections.
  • Cleaned up career tooltips.
  • Enabled some gameplay features that were hidden behind debug mode.
